Long Dong Silver Nú

update (confused) the noon

  • Drafting Linearkey is continuing, though he made the decision not to publish anything until it is completed. It 's still much work to do, but always manages to please me. In terms of plot are now running out, but I want to improve the environment and expand on some characters that I have a little left out. Key needs space!

  • I'm reading a book of literary criticism "The Western Canon" by Harold Bloom, one of the biggest critics of the twentieth century. Its purpose is to identify the 26 writers (I think, are just the beginning) at the base of the aesthetic canon of the West. I think few books in my experience as a reader I have annoyed a lot (Orwell's 1984 or Voltaire's Candide). A totally elitist claptrap of the literature combined with a never proven over the literary scene from Homer ... The writers are considered to be severed from the souls of their gift to create strong and reinvent the man and not as items that express the nature through a different method of expression, different, not better. Any kind of criticism that uses texts as a basis for reflections on the historical, social, or re-use them to express an ideological position, are banned because trivializing the size of the writer intended. Well, I'm also ranting (but only for lack of time and space) so I'll stop here. Maybe when I finish I will fine or polemizzerò with greater awareness.

  • There is a need for a Western canon? There is a need to give aesthetic reference points? It makes sense to "teach" the taste artisitico? It makes sense to try to make an objective criterion that is highly subjective? While acknowledging that there are things artistically beautiful and artistically beautiful things, how important is it to put barriers? It would not be a smartest choice merely to show how strong and intense may be an artistic expression, as it is? I have always considered literary criticism as a starting point for further discussion among readers who find themselves sharing the reading of an author of a text. Opinions, not dogma.
